In cases where the clutch engages in a "jerky" manner the clutch lifter assy. may be the old style which used a trapezoidal thread on both the lifter assy. and the mating piece in the L.H. side cover.

      The new style parts should eliminate this altogether. The threaded portion in the L.H. cover now has ball bearings for the lifter to run on.

PROCEDURE

1.	Drain sump. Remove L.H. crankcase cover and generator cover. Remove adjusting nut and screw from push lever assy. Remove two screws securing push screw housing to generator cover. Remove pin securing joint to push lever assy.
2.	Install ball screw assy. in reverse order of disassembly using old pin adjusting nut and screw.
3.	Readjust clutch per standard procedures.
