tx750 special interest site CLUTCH ASSY.

When adjusting for backlash there may be occasions when the largest size primary drive gear will not take up the clearance. In these cases there are alternative clutch drums available.

If the drum has to be changed the major point to watch is that the ignition shaft is retimed.

If the clutch changing procedure in the Service Manual is followed there should be no problems.

The clutch assy for the TX750A is redesigned and no longer has a needle roller bearing. The clutch now runs on a plain bearing, the steel plates are the solid type as in a conventional clutch.

The new clutch combined with the modified push rod and clutch adjuster screw should result in a clutch which does not drag, slide or grab.

NOTE

When tightening the clutch centre nut (Ref. No. 14-12 Part No. 156-16174-00 Nut) tighten to the following spec.
