TX750 DEFECTIVE PUMP SHAFT COVER OIL SEAL, R and R Procedure

Oil leakage past the Rotor Cover Seal (22) will cause engine misfire and hard starting. An improved oil seal, P/N 931-02111-18-00 is standard on F/Nos. 006041~.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove shift lever and left crankcase cover.
2. Remove breaker plate holding screws (32) and breaker plate assembly (25)
3. Remove nut (35) and governor/point cam assembly (34).
NOTE: Although not shown in Parts List or Service Manual, Governor Assembly (34) is two-piece. If disassembled, install cam with index mark aligned with locating pin on advance assembly collar.

4. Remove governor locating pin (not shown)
5. Remove circlip (24) and side plate (23).
6. Thread two 6mm screws into rotor cover (20) and use them to pull the cover out.
7. Replace oil seal (22). Note: Use only new type. The brown teflon sealing edge must go inward.
8. Replace cover "O" rings (21).
